Beatbox Harmonica
My friend John sent me an incredible link:
A video of an extremely talented person beatboxing while playing the harmonica.
I’m thoroughly impressed, and want to jam with dude.
Prepare to Die
Those who have watched the cult film, The Princess Bride, may remember the following quote:
Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father: prepare to die.
Is is odd that it came to mind as I was reading a BBC article on a Somali execution?
Morel Fix
Considering I only found one last year, finding roughly twenty is not a bad catch.
Be Safe
UPDATE: I’ve just been informed that the information below is an urban legend. Sure enough, I visited the snopes.com Urban Legends page and found The Killer in the Backseat, and The Unkindest Cut.
I feel very silly that I actually posted this:
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
A friend stopped at a pay-at-the-pump gas station to get gas. Once she filled her gas tank and after paying at the pump and starting to leave, the voice of the attendant inside came over the speaker. He told her that something happened with her card and that she needed to come inside to pay. The lady was confused because the transaction showed complete and approved. She relayed that to him and was getting ready to leave but the attendant, once again, urged her to come in to pay or there’d be trouble. She proceeded to go inside and started arguing with the attendant about his threat. He told her to calm down and listen carefully:
He said that while she was pumping gas, a guy slipped into the back seat of her car on the other side and the attendant had already called the police.
She became frightened and looked out in time to see her car door open and the guy slip out. The report is that the new gang initiation thing is to bring back a woman and/or her car… One way they are doing this is crawling under women’s cars while they’re pumping gas or at grocery stores in the nighttime. The other way is slipping into unattended cars and kidnapping the women.
Please pass this on to other women, young and old alike. Be extra careful going to and from your car at night. If at all possible, don’t go alone!
This is real!!
The message:
- ALWAYS lock your car doors, even if you’re gone for just a second!
- Check underneath your car when approaching it for reentry, and check in the back before getting in.
- Always be aware of your surroundings and of other individuals in your general vicinity, particularly at night!
Send this to everyone so your friends can take precaution.
AND GUYS…YOU TELL ANY WOMEN YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS

Exquisite Corpse #1
This is an Exquisite Corpse, a collaborative work from 2002 or 2003. Each line represents a new author.
Benny sat down on the park bench, observing the pigeons taking shits in front of him.
And then he died.
He came back alive!
He ran around the room screaming, “Yipee!”
And tripped over the footstool and broke his leg.
Since the break was a compund fracture, the man made a makeshift splint out of popsicle sticks and dust bunnies.
With the splint in place, he made his way through the forest, and drove 23 miles to the aid station.
The drill sergeant asked, “What happened?”
An Improved Mood
I was having a bad day. Or rather, my mood was rather foul. It was my lunch break, and I was walking through Grand Avenue mall in quest of a culinary delight. I chanced upon a sight that made me uncomfortable at first, because I didn’t know where to put my eyes. A kissing couple. As I got closer, I kept watching them, and how they were trying to walk together while kissing. The woman was walking backwards, and the whole sight somehow really cheered me up. By the time I passed them, I was beaming a glorious smile.
After I got my lunch, I was walking back to work and noticed two seagull turds just miss me by a foot or two. How fortuitous. I felt so lucky.
I Feel Lonely
I feel a deep void inside, like peering into a deep well at night, and you can only see darkness, and maybe, maybe the reflection of a star in the dark water, deep, deep below. I try to fill this void, to avoid feeling the darkness and the loneliness, but nothing ever seems to fill that void. Not people, not things or possessions, not travelling to other places, not even music.
The loneliness that I feel is an absence of spirituality.
