Sarcasm

Sarcasm is a pale shadow of human interaction. It is insencere, but seems dressed in sincerety, and drives spears of anguish into those with open hearts. I wish I wasn’t sarcastic.

I am.

How can I change this? Open my heart more? Or close it?

I’m in one of those moods where I would love to simply run off, far away from here, and never see any of you again.

Just disappear. Start over. Be anonymous. Be a stranger. Die alone.

Fuck.

I don’t think sarcasm is bad within itself, in fact I find it to be a really great way to connect with people. It’s just how you use it that matters.

If you find yourself dying alone and change your mind about it, give me a call and I’ll come keep you company while you die, wherever you are.

Sarcasm is about the only source of humor i find in life–It lightens the mood under stress, it makes me smile when everything is too crazy to deal with–I agree with Heidi, it is the use that makes it something bad–I think when your sarcasm becomes a cynical outlook overall–then you are a meany head hehe

The problem with relying on sarcasm is that it is culture specific. Much of it is understood by the tone of voice, and not spefically the meaning of the words. This can be problematic for visitors from a foreign country or ESL students.

While I use sarcasm frequently, I don’t know if it the most effective means of communication.
