A young woman can taste music

March 24th, 2005

Swiss researchers are studying a young woman whose synaesthesia permits her to taste music!?! Musical intervals such as a minor 3rd or a perfect 5th are experienced as different flavors on her tongue. This is rather unusual; most cases report being able to see sounds.

I wish I could do that.

Just a thought to throw in that autistic savants can “see” and “taste” arithmetic–i have to find the article on it, but in general the scientists are thinking that it is a function of the brain that manifests as autism that we can all tap into — it is a long the same vein as this really–pretty crazy stuff that human brain–too bad we cant use it right!
Did i read that article from you??
